# Zapier MCP connector

The Zapier connector brings the Zapier actions your team has enabled to Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, so people can run reads and writes across their connected apps as themselves, with every call recorded.

## What you can ask once Zapier is connected

- Which Zapier actions are enabled for our CRM?
- Pull today's new leads through our enabled Zapier read action
- Create a Zapier skill that logs a call note after each demo

## Connect Zapier in Elaichi

This happens once for the organization, before any client is involved.

1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Zapier.
2. Optionally set Share with, then press Connect.
3. Approve it in Zapier. Zapier's own window opens. Whoever approves it decides what this connection can reach.

Credentials are vaulted and nobody, including the AI, reads them back. The connection becomes a toolbox immediately, so you can curate which Zapier tools are exposed, rename them, or freeze arguments before anyone points a client at it.

## Zapier MCP connector for Claude

Endpoint: https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Press Add.
3. Name it, paste the MCP server URL, then Continue.
4. Sign in and approve.

On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it once. Everyone else turns it on for themselves.

## Zapier MCP connector for ChatGPT

Endpoint: https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp

1. Open Plugins, then press the + button.
2. Name it and paste the endpoint into Server URL.
3. Leave Authentication on OAuth, then tick the risk acknowledgement.
4. Press Create, then sign in and approve.

Works on the web today. The plugin directory lives at chatgpt.com/plugins.

## Zapier MCP connector for Cursor

Endpoint: https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp

1. Open `~/.cursor/mcp.json`.
2. Add the endpoint under `mcpServers`.
3. Reload Cursor, then sign in and approve.

Set up per machine, so repeat it on each computer you work from.

## Connect Zapier to any MCP client

Endpoint: https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp

1. Add the endpoint as a remote MCP server.
2. Sign in and approve.

The Elaichi Agent already has these tools, with nothing to set up.

## What the consent screen decides

Only Read is granted by default, which is not enough to call a Zapier tool. Over MCP there is no trusted place to confirm a write in the moment, so the consent screen is the standing approval rather than a formality. Grant Read and Run tools. Think hard before granting Delete, which reaches into connected apps and cannot be undone.

## What teams do with Zapier through Elaichi

### Turn on the Zapier actions your team needs

Operations. Browse the Zapier actions available for the apps you have connected, switch on the ones your team should use, and keep the rest switched off.

### Pull a customer record from a connected app

Sales. Ask for an account's latest details from the CRM or billing tool connected through Zapier and get the answer without opening another tab.

### Log a ticket update through Zapier

Support. After a customer call, run a Zapier write action to update the ticket or post a note in the desk tool your team already uses.

### Add a new lead to the right list

Marketing. Run a Zapier write action that drops a new contact into your email or ads platform the moment it comes up in a conversation.

### See which Zapier connections are live

IT. List the app connections behind your Zapier account, review the ones that need attention, and fetch the configuration link when an app needs to be reauthorized.

### Package a repeated job as a Zapier skill

Enablement. Create and update Zapier skills that bundle the steps your team repeats, so a colleague can ask for the whole job in one line.

## Elaichi vs Zapier MCP vs Composio for Zapier

All three can connect Zapier to an AI assistant, and all three have admin controls. They differ in where access lives and how you pay.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I connect Zapier to Claude?

In Elaichi, choose Zapier from the catalog and connect it. Zapier opens its own sign-in and approval screen, you approve once, and there is no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp.

### Does Zapier work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Zapier is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Zapier once and every client picks it up.

### What can an AI agent actually do with my Zapier data?

An agent can look through the Zapier actions available for your connected apps, switch them on or off, and run them: read actions pull records from an app, write actions create or update them. It can also list and manage the connections behind your Zapier account and create, update or delete Zapier skills that bundle repeated steps. Short, concrete asks like "pull today's new leads" work better than long sentences.

### Does connecting Zapier give the AI every app in my Zapier account?

No. Access follows the person who signed in to Zapier, so the agent only reaches the apps that person has connected and the actions that have been enabled. Elaichi can narrow that further with roles and restrictions, and it never widens it beyond what the person could do in Zapier themselves.

### Can my team share one Zapier connection?

Yes. One person connects Zapier in Elaichi and shares it with a team, and nobody else handles a password, token or secret. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so every Zapier action in the audit log names the person who ran it.

### Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Zapier?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi work per action, so you can allow Zapier read actions while blocking write actions, or block deleting a Zapier skill while allowing it to be viewed. A restricted action is never advertised to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at all, so no prompt can reach it.

### What happens to a Zapier connection when someone leaves?

Offboarding a person in Elaichi ends their access to Zapier at once, in every client they used. A shared Zapier connection keeps working for everyone else on the team. If you want Zapier gone entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and every other client.

### Does the Zapier MCP connector work with Gemini, Codex, Claude Code or other MCP clients?

Yes. Zapier is reached over the same MCP endpoint every client uses, so anything that speaks MCP can call it — Gemini, Codex, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and OpenCode among them — alongside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the Elaichi Agent. The tools on offer and the access behind them are identical whichever client asks. Only the setup screen differs.

### Is Elaichi an alternative to Zapier MCP for Zapier?

Yes. Both let Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use Zapier. Zapier MCP fits a team that already automates in Zapier, since each person signs in and acts as themselves in that account. Elaichi fits when IT wants one address for the whole company, per-tool rules by role, and a record of every Zapier call.

### How is Elaichi different from Composio for Zapier?

Composio gives AI agents tools and sign-in handling across 1,000+ apps, for developers building agents or people using an assistant, billed per tool call. Elaichi gives a company's own people governed access to Zapier: one address, restrictions per role or user, and $15 per user per month. Both have role permissions and a log of every call.
