# Getting around

Learn the three pieces of furniture every Elaichi screen shares: the sidebar, the header, and the command palette. Once you know those, everything else is a detail.

**Where to find it:** Anywhere in the signed-in app — the sidebar is on the left, the header across the top.

## Use the sidebar

The sidebar lists the main areas of the app:

| Area | What lives there |
| --- | --- |
| **Connections** | The accounts you've authorized |
| **Connectors** | The catalog of products, plus custom ones you build |
| **Toolboxes** | Shared templates, your own toolboxes, and synthetic tools |
| **MCP Servers** | The endpoints your AI clients connect to |
| **Members & Roles** | People, roles, and teams |
| **Governance** | Restrictions and the audit log |
| **Settings** | Organization-wide configuration |

Areas you don't have permission for are hidden, so your sidebar may be shorter than a colleague's.

At the top sits the **organization switcher**. At the bottom, your **profile menu** — that's where you log out.

## Jump with the command palette

Press **⌘K** (**Ctrl+K** on Windows and Linux) from anywhere to open the palette. Start typing and it filters as you go.

It does two things:

- **Navigate** — jump to any area without reaching for the mouse
- **Create** — start common actions directly, like *Add connection*, *New connector*, or *New toolbox*

Like the sidebar, it only offers what you're allowed to do.

## Keyboard shortcuts

| Shortcut | Does |
| --- | --- |
| **⌘K** | Open or close the command palette |
| **⌘B** | Show or hide the sidebar |
| **⌘⇧A** | Open or close the assistant |

On Windows and Linux, use **Ctrl** in place of **⌘**.

## Read the header

The header shows where you are, with a breadcrumb back to the parent list when you're on a detail page. On the right you'll find:

- **Page actions** — the buttons for whatever you're looking at, like *New toolbox*
- **Help** — opens the guide for the page you're on
- **Ask AI** — opens the assistant with a question about the current page already filled in
- **Theme** — switch between light and dark

## Good to know

- Unsaved changes are held in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Save or discard before you navigate away.
- On small screens the sidebar collapses into a menu button, and header buttons shrink to icons.
- What you can see is driven by your roles. If a screen or action seems missing, ask an administrator to check your roles under **Members & Roles**.
