# Complete two-factor sign-in

> Source: https://elaichi.ai/docs/guides/basics/two-factor-sign-in/

Confirm it’s really you with a code from your authenticator app or a recovery code.

**Where to find it:** Shown after sign-in when two-factor authentication is required

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second check after you sign in, so a stolen email account isn’t enough to reach your data.

You see this screen whenever your account — or your organization’s policy — requires that second check.

## Enter your second factor

1. Open your authenticator app and find the Elaichi entry.
2. Enter the six-digit code before it refreshes.
3. If you don’t have your device, enter one of your saved recovery codes instead.
4. Continue into the app.

**You'll know it worked when:** Your session completes and you enter the organization.

## Good to know

- Each recovery code works once. Generate a new set when you run low.
- You can’t skip this screen — the session stays incomplete until you finish the check.

Set up or replace your authenticator app under Settings → Security.

## If something goes wrong

- Code rejected? Wait for the next code in your app — clocks that drift a little can miss the current one.
- Lost your device and recovery codes? Ask an organization owner to help you regain access.
