Where to find it: Connections in the sidebar

A connection is one authorized account for a product. Credentials stay in the vault; this page is where you manage ownership, status, and lifecycle.

What the list shows

Column What you’ll see
Connector Product name (and your connection name when set)
Scope Personal, a team name, or Organization
Status Active, Pending, Needs re-auth, or disconnected
Created by Who created the connection
Created When it was added

Toolbar actions: Refresh connections and Add connection (if you have connection:create or connection:share).

You see connections you own and connections shared with you — directly, through a team you belong to, or with everyone at your organization. No organization permission widens that.

Row actions

Open the ⋮ menu on a row you can manage (you own it, or it’s a shared connection and you have connection:manage):

Action When it’s available What it does
Reconnect Always in the menu when you can manage the row; also inline when status is Needs re-auth Re-runs the authorization window and rebinds the same connection
Manage access Always in the menu Opens the access dialog: share the connection, revoke a share, and transfer ownership to another member
Delete When you can manage the row Removes the connection and its vault account

There is no separate “tools” action on the row. To browse what the product exposes:

  1. Open Connectors, find the same product, and open its detail page → Tools, or
  2. Open Toolboxes → My toolboxes and open the automatic Connection toolbox for that account.

Transfer ownership

Transfer hands a connection to a colleague without signing in again. It changes who owns the connection and nothing else — who can reach it stays exactly as it was.

  1. Choose Manage access on a connection you own.
  2. Click the transfer icon next to Owner.
  3. Pick the new owner — any other member of the organization. There is no “organization” or “team” option: ownership is always one person.
  4. Confirm Transfer.

To let a team or everyone at your organization use the connection, share it from the same dialog. Sharing is a separate, deliberate act — a transfer never widens access on your behalf.

Toolboxes that already use the connection keep working. For the full offboarding path when removing a member, see Transfer and offboard.

Delete implications

Deleting is permanent. The confirm dialog warns that deleting the connection immediately breaks toolboxes that use it.

What goes away with the connection:

  • The vault account for that product
  • Bindings that pointed toolboxes at this connection

Prefer Transfer (or resolving connections during member removal) when someone leaves and shared toolboxes still need the account.

Warning

Delete only after you’ve checked what’s using the connection. Prefer transfer for personal accounts that shared toolboxes depend on.

Keep connections healthy

  1. Open Connections and scan Status.
  2. Reconnect anything marked Needs re-auth.
  3. Transfer personal connections that should outlive one person.
  4. Delete only unused or replaced connections.

You'll know it worked when: Connections you rely on show Active, with the right scope badge.

If something goes wrong

  • Connection stays unhealthy after reconnect? Sign in again with the product and approve any new permissions it requests.
  • Can’t share a connection with a team or the organization? You need connection:share, or ask an admin to share it for you.
  • Can’t see a teammate’s personal connection? You can’t — an unshared connection stays private to its owner until they share it. Transferring it does not change that, and no permission reaches one.
