Use your toolboxes

Manage the personal toolboxes your AI clients connect to — automatic connection toolboxes, the global toolbox, and copies of shared templates.

Where to find it: Toolboxes → My toolboxes

This is what MCP servers attach to. Shared templates alone are not enough.

System toolbox detail shows an alert that Elaichi updates it automatically: you can use its tools and create an MCP server, but you can’t edit entries. Delete isn’t offered for system toolboxes.

Create a copy from a template

  1. Open My toolboxes.
  2. Choose New from template (or Create toolbox / Start without a template when offered).
  3. Pick a shared toolbox you can Use, name your copy, and create it.
  4. Open it and bind connections under Template tools.

Connection binding

For template tools:

UI state Meaning

Ready / Disabled / Tool unavailable Ready to advertise, turned off, or can’t resolve

You can also add Your added tools with Add tools (including synthetic tools) on non-system toolboxes.

Unmet or blocked tools remain visible for setup but stay hidden from MCP until they’re ready.

Create an MCP server from here

  1. Open a Mine toolbox.
  2. Choose Create MCP server (preselects this toolbox).
  3. Copy the URL when it’s shown — the token appears once.

You can also create servers from the MCP Servers page and pick the toolbox there.

Delete implications

Deleting a non-system user toolbox also removes MCP servers built on it (tokens revoked). Prefer regenerating or recreating endpoints if you still need client access.

Warning

Deleting a toolbox deletes MCP servers that use it. Update Claude, Cursor, or other clients afterward.

Good to know

  • Your toolboxes are personal — other people can’t attach MCP to them.
  • Tools blocked by organization restrictions don’t appear to clients, even if the template includes them.
  • Tools with no connection chosen can’t run over MCP until bound.
  • Permissions: toolbox:create to create copies; mcp:create to publish endpoints.
