Zeplin MCP connector
The Zeplin connector brings your Zeplin organizations, projects, members, styleguides, and workflow statuses to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP client, so each person can review and manage them inside their own Zeplin access with every action logged.
-
How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.
-
One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.
-
Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.
How to connect
How to connect Zeplin to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
Two steps, about a minute.
In Elaichi
Connect Zeplin once
-
Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Zeplin.
-
Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.
-
Paste a Zeplin API key. One person generates a token in Zeplin and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.
The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

In your AI client
Point it at one endpoint
Everyone in the organization uses the same address, and each person only ever reaches what their own account allows.

Use cases
What teams do with Zeplin through Elaichi
Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.
-
Design ops
Onboard a new designer to the right projects
Add a new hire as a Zeplin member and put them on the projects their squad works in, all from one request instead of clicking through each project.
-
Design
Find every project a teammate can see
Ask which Zeplin projects and styleguides a specific person has access to before a handover, so nothing is left behind when work moves between designers.
-
Engineering
Check a project's workflow statuses
Pull the workflow statuses your organization uses in Zeplin to confirm what "ready for development" actually means before picking up a screen.
-
Product
Get a snapshot of active projects
List every Zeplin project in the organization, read their descriptions and details, and update a project's description when scope changes after a planning session.
-
IT
Remove a contractor's access at the end
See the external collaborators and members in your Zeplin organization, then remove a departing contractor from the projects they were on and from the organization itself.
-
Engineering
Set up notifications when projects change
Create or adjust a Zeplin organization webhook so your build or chat tools hear about changes without anyone watching the project page.
Try asking
- “List Zeplin projects with no members added this month.”
- “Which members belong to more than five Zeplin projects?”
- “Summarize our Zeplin organization seats and billing plan.”

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Zeplin to Claude?
First, connect Zeplin in Elaichi by pasting a Zeplin API key, which takes about a minute. Then in Claude open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp as the endpoint. There is no OAuth application to register in Zeplin and no client ID or secret to generate.
Does Zeplin work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?
Yes. Once Zeplin is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Zeplin once and every client picks it up.
What can an AI agent actually do with my Zeplin data?
It can list your Zeplin organizations, projects, styleguides, members, and workflow statuses, look up a single project or organization, and update a project's details. It can also add or remove members and project members, check organization billing, and create or update organization webhooks. Because Zeplin exposes many actions, short concrete asks such as "list the projects Maria can see" work better than long instructions.
Does connecting Zeplin give the AI access to every project in my workspace?
No. Every request runs as the person who signed in, so the AI sees only the Zeplin organizations, projects, and styleguides that person already has access to. Elaichi can narrow that further with restrictions, but it can never widen it beyond what Zeplin itself allows that person.
Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Zeplin?
Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi work per action, so you can allow reading Zeplin projects and members while blocking removing members or updating projects and webhooks. A blocked action is never advertised to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other client, so no prompt can reach it.
What happens to a Zeplin connection when someone leaves?
Offboarding a person in Elaichi ends their access to Zeplin through every AI client at once. A Zeplin connection shared with a team keeps working for everyone else. If you want it gone entirely, disconnecting Zeplin once in Elaichi removes it from every client at the same time.
