Affinity MCP connector

The Affinity connector brings organizations, people, opportunities, notes and logged emails, calls and meetings into Elaichi, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can look them up and keep them current inside each person's own Affinity access.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Affinity to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Affinity once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Affinity.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste an Affinity API key. One person generates a token in Affinity and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

Use cases

What teams do with Affinity through Elaichi

Every one of these runs inside the access the person already has, and lands in the same audit log.

  • Deal team

Catch a company record up after a call

Ask for the latest on a portfolio prospect, then have the note written up and the opportunity moved along without opening Affinity.

  • Partners

Get briefed before a founder meeting

Pull the organization, the people on it, recent notes and the last few emails and meetings into a short briefing minutes before you walk in.

  • Investor relations

Find who last spoke to an LP

Check email, call and meeting history for a person and see which teammate has the warmest relationship before reaching out.

  • Platform

    Add new introductions to Affinity

After an event, turn a list of names and companies into new people and organizations in Affinity, linked to the right opportunity.

  • Business development

Review the pipeline in plain language

Ask which opportunities have gone quiet, which organizations have no recent interactions, and what was said in the last note on each.

  • Operations

Clean up duplicate and stale records

Spot organizations and people that need merging or updating, fix names, domains and details, and remove records that should not be there, within the limits your admin has set.

Try asking

  • “List opportunities created in Affinity this week”
  • “Add a note to the Acme organization in Affinity”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Affinity to Claude?

Connect Affinity in Elaichi first: Affinity signs in with an API key, so you copy the key from your Affinity settings and paste it in, with no client ID or secret to generate. Then in Claude open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Claude signs you into Elaichi as yourself and your Affinity organizations, people, opportunities and notes are available in the conversation.

Does Affinity work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Affinity is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Affinity once and every client uses that one connection.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Affinity data?

With Affinity connected, an agent can look up organizations, people and opportunities, read and write notes, create or update records after a call, and review logged emails, calls and meetings to tell you who last spoke to someone. Because Affinity has a large set of actions, the agent searches for the right one as you ask, so short concrete requests like "add a note to Acme" work better than long paragraphs.

Does connecting Affinity give the AI my whole Affinity workspace?

No. Every request runs inside the Affinity access of the person who signed in, so an agent sees the organizations, people and opportunities that person can already see in Affinity, and nothing more. Elaichi can narrow that further, for example to read-only, but it can never widen what Affinity itself allows.

Can my team share one Affinity connection?

Yes. One person connects Affinity in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else ever handles the Affinity API key. Each teammate still signs into Elaichi as themselves, so every note written or opportunity changed is recorded against the person who did it.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Affinity?

Yes. Restrictions in Elaichi apply per action, so you can allow reading and creating notes in Affinity while blocking deletion of organizations, people or opportunities. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT or any other client, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to an Affinity connection when someone leaves?

Offboarding that person in Elaichi ends their access to Affinity through every client at once. If they had shared an Affinity connection with a team, it keeps working for everyone else. Disconnecting Affinity once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and every other client at the same time.
