The Crunchbase connector brings company profiles, funding rounds, investors, people, IPOs and events into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client, so anyone signed in can research and compare companies within their own Crunchbase access.
-
How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.
-
One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.
-
Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Crunchbase to Claude?
Connect Crunchbase in Elaichi first, then in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Crunchbase's own sign-in step is pasting the API key from your Crunchbase account into Elaichi, which takes a minute. There is no OAuth application to register and no client ID or secret to generate.
Does Crunchbase work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?
Yes. Once Crunchbase is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Crunchbase once and every client you use picks it up.
What can an AI agent actually do with my Crunchbase data?
With Crunchbase connected, an agent can look up a company or person, pull funding rounds, investors, ownership, IPOs and event appearances, and search for companies that match a description such as a sector, location or recent raise. It then summarizes or compares what it finds in plain language. Because Crunchbase has many lookups, short concrete asks like "latest funding round for Acme" work better than long paragraphs.
Does connecting Crunchbase give the AI everything in Crunchbase?
No. Every request runs under the Crunchbase API key of the person who signed in, so the agent sees exactly what that person's Crunchbase plan allows, no more. Elaichi can narrow that access further, for example to company lookups only, but it can never widen it beyond what Crunchbase itself grants.
Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Crunchbase?
The Crunchbase connector only reads records, so an agent cannot create, edit or delete anything in Crunchbase through it. You can still restrict individual actions, such as people searches, per team in Elaichi. A restricted action is never advertised to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, so no prompt can reach it.
What happens to a Crunchbase connection when someone leaves?
Offboarding a person in Elaichi ends their access to Crunchbase through every client at once, whether they connected it themselves or used a shared connection. A shared Crunchbase connection keeps working for everyone else on the team. If you disconnect Crunchbase once in Elaichi, it disappears from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and every other client at the same time.
