This video shows how to connect ChatGPT to your work apps with one URL, on the real screens. You add https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp as a custom MCP server, sign in, and choose what ChatGPT may do. ChatGPT reaches only the tools you pick.
What does the video show about how to connect ChatGPT to your work apps?
The video follows one setup from start to finish. Each step below links to the longer written guide where it helps.
- 0:00 Add Elaichi as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT.
- 0:39 Continue to Elaichi, sign in, and choose what ChatGPT may do and which tools it can use.
- 1:14 Ask ChatGPT for something from a connected app.
- 1:26 Check the call in Elaichi's audit log.
- 1:35 What to do if it will not connect.
What do you need before you start?
An Elaichi account and a ChatGPT plan that allows custom MCP servers. In the video, on ChatGPT Pro, you add Elaichi yourself. On Business, an admin adds it for the workspace (OpenAI's developer mode and MCP apps guide, checked October 2026). If you are not an admin on Business, ask one to add it first.
How do you add Elaichi as a custom MCP server?
In ChatGPT, open Plugins from the left bar. That opens Customize. Select Add, then choose Add custom MCP server. Name it Elaichi and paste https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Leave Authentication on OAuth.
The form also has an I understand and want to continue checkbox. Create as a plugin stays off until you tick it. The form asks for no client ID or secret, because Elaichi supports registration under RFC 7591 and registers ChatGPT itself. These steps are as of October 2026, and OpenAI keeps moving its menus.
What do you choose when you sign in?
Select Continue to Elaichi. ChatGPT opens Elaichi's sign-in. Pick your organization, then tick what ChatGPT may do: read, create and change, run your tools, and delete. Delete is never ticked for you and it covers only Elaichi's own deletes, so tick it only if the person needs it.
Next, choose the tools. All my tools gives ChatGPT everything you can use. Only the ones I pick limits it to the toolboxes you choose. Then select Allow access. Back in ChatGPT, Elaichi is listed under Plugins, then Personal.
How do you check that ChatGPT can reach your apps?
Select Try in chat on the plugin's page, and ask for something from one of your connected apps. ChatGPT runs it through Elaichi and answers with live data. To confirm it worked, open the audit log in Elaichi. The call is there: who made it, that it came through ChatGPT, and which tool it ran.
In the video, a read-only request needed no approval, because it only read data. The plugin's settings page in ChatGPT offers a Permission choice, from Always ask to Allow all tools, and Refresh tools to pull the tool list again. OpenAI explains how those settings work in Managing app permissions in ChatGPT.
What if you cannot connect ChatGPT to your work apps?
- Check the address. It ends in
/mcp, with no slash after it. - If you do not see Add custom MCP server, your plan or your workspace admin may not allow it.
- If sign-in times out, start again from Plugins.
For the written steps and what each person can reach once connected, read Connect Elaichi to ChatGPT. To roll the same setup out to a whole team, read Connect company apps to Claude and ChatGPT. The server follows the open Model Context Protocol specification, so the same address works in other clients too.
