Thena MCP connector

The Thena connector brings your Thena customer accounts, contacts, activities, and notes to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP client, so each person can look them up and keep them current while signed in as themselves.

  • How it connects. Connects with an API key. The credential goes into a vault nobody reads back.

  • One address. https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, the same for every user.

  • Their own access. An agent never gets more than the person it acts for.

How to connect

How to connect Thena to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor

Two steps, about a minute.

1

In Elaichi

Connect Thena once

  1. Open Connections, choose Add connection, and pick Thena.

  2. Optionally set Share with to give a team access, then press Connect.

  3. Paste a Thena API key. One person generates a token in Thena and pastes it once. Everyone else works through Share with, and never sees it.

The credential is vaulted. Nobody reads it back, not even the AI.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Thena to Claude?

First connect Thena in Elaichi by pasting an API key from your Thena settings, then in Claude open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, and paste the endpoint https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp. Thena does not use an OAuth application here, so there is no client ID or secret to generate. Signing in with your own Elaichi login finishes the setup and Claude can then work with your Thena accounts, contacts, activities, and notes.

Does Thena work with ChatGPT and Cursor as well as Claude?

Yes. Once Thena is connected in Elaichi, the same endpoint, https://api.elaichi.ai/mcp, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any other MCP client, and the Elaichi Agent. You connect Thena once and every client you use gets it.

What can an AI agent actually do with my Thena data?

With Thena connected, an agent can list and look up customer accounts, find the contacts on an account, create new accounts and contacts, including many contacts at once, and log activities and notes after a call or meeting. It can also update or remove accounts, contacts, activities, and notes when details change. Thena has a large set of actions, so short, specific asks such as "add a note to the Acme account" work better than long sentences.

Does connecting Thena give the AI access to every account in my workspace?

No. Every request to Thena runs as the person who signed in, so the agent sees only the accounts, contacts, and notes that person already has access to in Thena. Elaichi can narrow that further with restrictions, for example limiting a team to read-only, but it can never widen what someone is allowed to see or do in Thena.

Can my team share one Thena connection?

Yes. One person connects Thena with an API key in Elaichi and shares the connection with a team, and nobody else on the team ever handles that key. Each teammate still signs in to Elaichi as themselves, so the audit log records exactly who created, changed, or looked up each Thena account, contact, activity, or note.

Can I stop an agent from deleting or changing things in Thena?

Yes. In Elaichi, restrictions on Thena work action by action, so you can allow looking up and creating accounts and contacts while blocking deleting or updating them. A blocked action is never shown to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any other client at all, so no prompt, however worded, can reach it.

What happens to a Thena connection when someone leaves?

When a person is offboarded in Elaichi, their access to Thena through every client ends at once. If they had shared a Thena connection with a team, that connection keeps working for everyone else. If you want to remove Thena entirely, disconnecting it once in Elaichi removes it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and every other client at the same time.
